1/ What are Fungible Tokens(Coins)?
Assets that are non-unique & divisible. These are utility tokens, governance tokens, RWA tokens & more.
Example: ApeCoin
2/ What are Non-Fungible Tokens(NFTs)?
Assets that are unique & non-divisible. These are provably scarce digital items, whether that be digital trading cards, tickets to an event, in-game items, digital music, or art.
Example: Bored Ape Yacht Club
3/ What are BRC-20s?
1. An experimental token standard for Fungible-like tokens on $BTC created by @domodata
2. After minting you receive in wallet an Ordinal(NFT)
3. Assets are both unique & divisible(see the difference from above)
4/ How does this look in practice?
1. You mint the BRC-20 $PUPS
2. $PUPS is now in wallet(see picture)
3. To turn your recently minted "NFT"(BRC-20) to a fungible token you'll mint a transfer inscription
4. Transfer inscriptions are necessary to devise, send, or sell BRC-20s
5/ Confusing right?
Let me close with an ELI5 explanation
1. You mint an NFT(Ordinal) that represents a fungible like token(BRC-20)
2. In order to unlock the potential of the fungible like features of this NFT(Ordinal) you will need to mint a transfer inscription(NFT Ordinal)
