A Token Generation Event (TGE) is when a cryptocurrency project officially creates and distributes its tokens for the first time.

Key points:

1. Creation:
The project mints (generates) the total supply of tokens, often on a blockchain like Ethereum or BNB Chain.

2. Distribution:
Tokens are allocated to investors, team members, early supporters, or the public via an ICO, IDO, or airdrop.

3. Smart Contract Launch:
A smart contract controls the supply, transfers, and other functions of the token.

4. Listing (optional):
After TGE, the token may be listed on decentralized or centralized exchanges for trading.

Why it matters:

TGE is a major milestone β€” it marks the token becoming live and usable. It’s often the moment investors start seeing returns or utility for holding the token.

It’s also the point where scams or rug pulls can happen, so due diligence is critical.
